Miss India Worldwide, in its 35th year, is amongst the most prestigious pageants in the country. It is a platform for Indian women from all around the world to showcase their beauty, intelligence, and talents in “the most glamorous Indian function in the country” as quoted by India Today.
This pageant gives contestants of Indian origin settled in various countries across the globe an opportunity to represent their city, state, and country by participating in the Miss India Worldwide pageant. The last time the Miss India Pageant was held in Tampa was in 2005, when 4000+ people gathered at the University of South Florida Sun Dome for a spectacular evening with tons of unforgettable performances, beautiful women, and Bollywood stars. After the immense success of IIFA, it is only fitting that we return the glamorous Miss India pageant back to the city of Tampa Bay to host the Miss India Florida Pageant.
Miss India Florida 2014 was everything it was hyped to be and more. 14 of the most beautiful and incredibly talented Indian women from Florida took Tampa by storm. The colorful and elegant dresses provided by Kresha Shah's Traditions Boutique, accented by the world renowned jewelry provided by Devam Jewelry, incredible performances by Miami's UJHOOM and Tampa's USF Bull Bhangra, tributes by Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, the hilarious comedy by Rajiv Satyal, and an appearance by Bollywood's sweetheart Preity Zinta who crowned the winners. It was a magical weekend hosted at Busch Gardens. The contestants began their weekend with a press conference where they charmed the local and national media, shared an exciting experience with each other as they explored the Busch Gardens theme park, danced the night away at private mixer with friends, family, and sponsors, all before the day they rocked the stage with their stunning looks with hair and makeup done by Michele Rene. If you missed it in 2014, you definitely don't want to miss 2015.
